Botox
Botox Cosmetic is an injectable treatment that helps to soften the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), periorbital lines (crow’s feet) and forehead (horizontal lines in the forehead). Repetitive facial expressions over many years can cause these lines to become deeper and thus more noticeable while the muscles are relaxed. Botox works by blocking the nerve signals that cause the muscles to contract. By weakening the muscles this leads to fewer lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful overall appearance.
Our Physician Assistant has received extensive training with aesthetic injections and is certified with the Allergan Medical Institute Accelerate Program.
Which signs of aging can it address?
This injectable can address vertical frown lines between the brows, chin wrinkles, crow feet around the eyes, lipstick lines around the lips, vertical neck bands, and horizontal forehead wrinkles.
Is Botox® helpful for all wrinkles and lines?
For undereye hollows, gaunt cheeks, and moderate to harsh lines around the mouth and nose, dermal fillers are typically a better treatment option. We provide a number of effective fillers.

This 28-year-old woman from Blacklick, Ohio came to the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery to enhance the appearance of her lips. In meeting with our Nurse Practitioner, Erica she made her aware of a product we use called RHA by Revance. RHA is a Hyluronic Acid, used specifically to fill the area that it is injected into and is known as a “designer” filler. For this patient, her lips were filled giving them a more plump appearance. The product typically lasts roughly a year and a half. This patient had an enjoyable experience and fantastic results! She is pictured here before and immediately after the procedure.
